Backpack of Toys Prompts Trump Tower Evacuation

An unattended bag, later found to be full of children’s toys, prompted the evacuation of the lobby of Trump Tower Tuesday afternoon.

The streets around Trump Tower had been cleared while the NYPD and NYFD responded to the report of a suspicious package left unattended in a public area of the building’s lobby.

Numerous images on social media portray people being evacuated from the building, but have now been allowed to return inside the building following the “all clear” from law enforcement and safety personnel.

President-elect Donald Trump and his family were in no danger from these toys, as they are in Florida for the holidays.
