Merry Christmas 2016 From All Of Us At Being Libertarian!

christmas

This past Friday, 23 December 2016, the current corporate structure of Being Libertarian had its first anniversary. At that time we were, legitimately, expecting to grow to about 100,000 likes on Facebook by the end of 2016. However, as of writing this article, we have over 248,000 likes, and we still have a few days to go before the end of the year.

We have expanded our online footprint to include Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr, Google+, Instagram, and LinkedIn, and are therefore well on our way to being one of the largest and most representative libertarian communities in the world. As Editor in Chief I have placed much emphasis on Being Libertarian reaching out to other parts of the globe, and, quite unlike our largest competitors, we have no official American focus, even though most of our content will inevitably be America due to the prominence of the US liberty movement. Our Editorial Board, if I can say so myself, is a testament to this position: We have two Americans, two Canadians, and I am a South African.

I have also, personally, said Being Libertarian is the most open and accommodating libertarian website a la community hub within the movement. Heck, we have surely had our fair share of controversy, as the authors we publish do often have unorthodox opinions to share (within the broad framework of libertarianism). But that is what we have been going for with this website: We focus on our community. We are your platform. We seek to empower aspiring libertarian activists and writers to get their foot in the door in this often-intimidating movement. Rather than trying to make a name for ourselves, we encourage our permanent authors and our guest authors to use our platform to make a name for themselves and the fresh ideas they can breathe into our movement.

On behalf of myself and the team at Being Libertarian, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas!
