George H. W. Bush has officially been reported dead as of November 30th, 2018

An official statement was released announcing the passing of the 41st President of the United States by his son George W. Bush, who was the 43rd President.

The statement read:

“Jeb, Neil, My, Doro, and I are saddened to announce after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died. George H. W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for. The entire Bush family is grateful for 41’s life and love, for the compassion of those who cared and prayed for Dad, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens.”

George H. W. Bush was the last World War II veteran to serve as President for his single term from 1989-1993. He had also previously served as Vice President for eight years and worked as an envoy to Beijing.

He is best remembered for being in power during the end of the Cold War, and, much like his son, carrying out lengthy military deployments to the Middle East.

Also like his son, his actions in that region will remain questionable and historical impactful for time to come. During the ground war in Iraq (that lasted no more than 100 hours) he made the fateful decision to leave Hussein in power despite his attack on Kuwait. Between that choice and the training given to some now infamous locals during the Gulf War, it’s fair to say that the father’s time in office eventually defined his son’s.

In addition was his proclamation of a “new world order” as the leader of the last remaining superpower (after the fall of the Soviet Union) which has definitively evolved over time as a concept far away from its original (advertised anyway) purpose. His wife, Barbara Bush, passed away on 17 April.
