Madison 365 published a provocative article entitled “Third-Party Voting is the Height of White Privilege”. As a libertarian, and consequently a connoisseur of provocation, I couldn’t help but to read on. The theme of the article is that as a white, male, heterosexual, Christian, the author won’t have his peace or prosperity jeopardized by a Donald Trump presidency, but those close to him, lacking such privileges, would suffer. A vote for anyone other than Mrs. Hillary Clinton will enable a Trump presidency, so in checking his privilege, he must cast his ballot for Mrs. Clinton.
Given that this man seems to have compassion, let’s look at the liability side of the balance sheet in terms of Mrs. Clinton’s compassion.
International Business Times has reported that arms exports to Saudi Arabia increased 97% under her provision as Secretary of State, and this happened after generous donations from the Saudis to the Clinton Foundation. There were atrocious human rights violations at the time, and now they’ve used those weapons, along with American aid, to fight an illegal and vile war against the Zaidi Muslims in Northern Yemen. The Saudis destroyed the life-sustaining infrastructure of Yemen, and will permit aid for their Sunni allies in that country but not for the Shia Zaidis. There’s a word for that – genocide. There are 14 million Yemenis going hungry and 370,000 children dying from malnutrition. I’m going to repeat that, and check your privilege as you read it: 370,000 children are dying from Clinton-sponsored weapons and the Obama administration continues to support the Saudis in this war.
Secondly, she knowingly used false allegations of attacks on Libya by the government to overthrow Muammar Gaddafi. Libya was one of the few places in that part of the world that championed women’s rights. They were prosperous and had lifespans comparable to the U.S. They had free healthcare. Gaddafi was going to demand currency negotiations for African and Middle Eastern nations by demanding gold for oil, and this was sufficient for Mrs. Clinton to remove him from power – even knowing that Al Qaeda were among the rebel groups there. As a result Libya is now run by misogynist, terroristic militias. Women’s rights are completely eroded, even to the point of the rising popularity of genital mutilations. Libya is Hell on Earth.
President Obama followed her advice on training rebels in Syria and consequently she’s had a very serious Aleppo gaffe – turning it into a pile of rubble. If Clinton supporters are pro-Muslim, why do they support bombing Islamic countries mercilessly?
As the author purports to be a follower of Jesus of Nazareth, I would point out there was one group that would throw Christ into a fit of insatiable rage – money-changers. Mrs. Clinton’s campaign, bought and paid for by the bankers, is alarming. QE 1, QE 2, and QE 3 have made the banks wealthy, but they have the capacity to destroy the US dollar and the only way out of hyperinflation is to raise interest rates; and high interest rates on the US’ $19 trillion debt could erase the national treasury on interest payments alone. The asset bubble in currency, dwarfing the real estate bubble in 2006, or the equity bubble in 1929, created by pro-bank practices leave the US economy teetering on the brink of complete disaster. It’s the same old story: bankers make money and the ordinary person suffers. In the hyperinflationary cases of China, Germany, Yugoslavia, and Zimbabwe, the hyperinflation was deadly.
The final point I wish to make is on the nature of wasting one’s vote. Stephen Weese did a wonderful mathematical study on the nature of wasting votes and published it on the Foundation for Economic Education’s website. The key takeaway is that almost all votes are wasted votes; as excessive votes for the winning candidate are also wasted votes.
Mrs. Clinton doesn’t suffer from a shortage of PR, of sound bites, photo ops, and a connection with the media that seem to have prevented stories such as her wretched and criminal foreign policy from being discussed. Given the reality of her history, the substance over the rhetoric, one would think with a record like that Clinton supporters would be far more modest. I will not be preached to or morally chastised by someone supporting this level of barbarism in a candidate. I highly suggest the author check his own privilege as someone not living in Yemen, not living in Libya, and consider the prosperity of his privilege-lacking loved ones when the bankers have a bought-and-paid-for candidate in the White House, and then maybe he’ll feel the Johnson.
