The idea that Hillary Clinton says things she doesn’t believe should not be news to anyone. It is a wonder what Clinton supporters actually think they are getting when they vote for her. The reason being that her “public position” is not the same as her “private position”, as confirmed by recent leaks at WikiLeaks. What does Hillary Clinton really believe?
By Their Fruits You’ll Know Them
It is interesting to note that during this election, there has been considerable attention on what the presidential candidates have said, as opposed to what they have done. I believe the reason for this is that Donald Trump looks really bad when you only focus on the things he has said, since he has no political career going into the election. On the other hand, Hilary Clinton has a track record of dubious acts that fundamentally exposes her as a fraud.
The latest revelation was a transcript from a speech Hillary Clinton gave privately to bankers when she proclaimed “My dream is a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders, sometime in the future with energy that is as green and sustainable as we can get it, powering growth and opportunity for every person in the hemisphere”. Most libertarians would cheer at the notion of open borders and trade, but Hillary Clinton, who supported the Trans-Pacific Partnership during her tenure as Secretary of State, has recently said she is against such policies. In her own words, “I oppose it now, I’ll oppose it after the election, and I’ll oppose it as president.” This is strange; it would seem that Hillary Clinton is holding on to two contradictory positions at the same time. In fact, she states that this is exactly what she does. In a private meeting with bankers she said “If everybody’s watching, you know, all of the back room discussions and the deals, you know, then people get a little nervous, to say the least… So, you need both a public and a private position.” This shouldn’t be a surprise, given that the legacy of the Clintons has always been on the side of big banks and big corporations.
Libertarians believe that free trade is a good thing, but oftentimes the free trade that people like Hillary Clinton advance includes specialized privileges afforded to firms at the expense of everyone else, i.e. crony capitalism. It is nothing other than a play toward protecting the special interest of companies which hate competition.
Hillary Clinton is Unsavory
Hillary Clinton claims that “Politics is like sausage being made. It is unsavory, and it always has been that way, but we usually end up where we need to be.”
I believe that the brand of politics that Hillary Clinton practices, is unsavory. The brand of politics that America has witness for the past 30 years, is unsavory. This is why more than ever before, everyone with any sanity should be looking to third parties for a brand of politics that is sane, and has any measure of dignity.
